Iara Oshiomole, wife of ex-governor of Edo state becomes bonafide citizen of Nigeria



Iara Oshiomole, wife of ex-governor of Edo, Adams Oshiomole‎, is now a bonafide citizen of the country, as her application for citizenship has been granted by the Nigerian Government.

Mrs Oshiomole, who hails from Cape Verde, was one of 335 foreign nationals, who were granted citizenship after statutory clearance and due diligence by the relevant security agencies this week.
The certificates of citizenship was presented by the Minister of interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau to the new
Nigerians and he charged them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria.

In his remarks, Dambazau said that 335 applicants were approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in January, out of over 500 foreigners that applied.

He also explained that 245 of the foreigners approved were granted Citizenship by‎ Naturalisation while 90 were by Registration, mainly foreign women married to Nigerians.
