Abraham John is an athlete from Akwa Ibom, Nigerian and former South Asian Games champion in long jump  and 100 meters hurdles and the former national champion in heptathlon. He won the  Access Bank Lagos City Marathon 2018 Medal Award in 10th Febuary 2018 and ARM Pensions Marathon (Run for the future) on 14th April 2018. Abraham had a long athletic career spanning over 20 years. At the national level Marathon in Lagos, He won 1 Silver medal and 1 Gold medal at ARM Pensions Marathon.  Abraham is an active athlete and competes regularly with Kenya Athletes and won medals in the 2018.  He is currently the joint convener of nigerdirect blogspot. He is very active in promoting fitness among people and active lifestyles. He actively promotes various running events and Marathons in Nigeria and beyond.

Personal life

Abraham John hails from Akwa Ibom and took to sport at the age of 12. He studied at Community Primary School, Umuorie Asa in Ukwa West L.G.A, Abia State, which encourage sports immensely. He was a Footballer and Long Jump player in addition to athletics at the Secondary level. Subsequently decided to focus on athletics. He studied at Kings and Queens College Ukanafun in Akwa Ibom State. He has two sisters who too were prolific sportspersons and have represented their respective levels, state and country in various sports fields.

National events

At national level award, Abraham in all won 1 Silver medal and 1 Gold medal at ARM Pensions Marathon.  Abraham is an active athlete and competes regularly with Kenya Athletes and won medals in the 2018. He took to 50 meters hurdles and long jump after 1990 and went on to excel in them too at the national level. He holds to His credit of being a national champion in two events namely Access Bank Lagos City Marathon 2018, 42 Kilometers and ARM Pensions Marathon (Run for the future), 10 Kilometers and achieving records in the race.
